The world's best windsurfers in Wissant

Jumps of over 10 metres, powerful waves and the world's elite gathered on a single French beach: this is the Wissant Wave Classic.

From 12 to 20 September 2026, the bay of Wissant hosts for the first time a 4-star World Cup stop of the World Wave Tour (WWT / PWA), combined with the French FFVoile Wave Championship. An event of international scale.

Speed, commitment, sky-high jumps: wave windsurfing at its most spectacular, against one of the most beautiful backdrops of the French coast, between Cap Gris-Nez and Cap Blanc-Nez.

Far more than a contest: 9 days of celebration

A boardsports festival open to everyone

For one week, Wissant becomes the world capital of wave windsurfing and the whole resort lives to the rhythm of the event. Here, boardsports aren't reserved for champions: on the beach and on the water, the public shares the daily life of international riders, feet in the sand, as close to the action as it gets.

What's on

  • Beginner sessions & demos open to all: windsurfing, surfing, wing foiling, stand-up paddle, speed sailing, kite… led by the region's schools and clubs.
  • The Boardsports Village at the heart of the event: two 10 m² giant screens broadcasting the competition live, partners and exhibitors, the latest gear, food and good vibes.
  • Grand Site des Deux Caps: running and cycling outings, beach volleyball and beach tennis on the vast coastal beaches.
  • Evening events & film screenings every night, to keep the vibe going and bring riders, volunteers and the public together.
  • Beach clean-ups: a strong environmental commitment, reflecting a region that cares for its coastline.

A unique energy and a warm, friendly atmosphere, driven by a team of passionate volunteers deeply rooted in Wissant: here, between the two capes, beats the heart of world wave windsurfing.

Who we are

The Wissant Wave Classic team

For the 2026 edition, the organisation of the Wissant Wave Classic builds on the solid experience gained during the 2024 and 2025 editions. This continuity is now strengthened by the arrival of new members on the team, bringing complementary skills, broader expertise and fresh momentum.

This evolution supports the event's rise in scale. It strengthens its professionalism, raises its organisational standards and continues its development on a national and international level.

The 2 Caps Windsurf association

The event is run by the 2 Caps Windsurf association, founded in 2020. It brings together windsurfing enthusiasts from the Côte d'Opale, between Cap Blanc-Nez and Cap Gris-Nez, at the iconic spots of Wissant, Sangatte and Wimereux.

Our mission: to promote windsurfing in a free, accessible and community-driven way, while showcasing the coastline and building connections between riders, locals and visitors.
