Jumps of over 10 metres, powerful waves and the world's elite gathered on a single French beach: this is the Wissant Wave Classic.
From 12 to 20 September 2026, the bay of Wissant hosts for the first time a 4-star World Cup stop of the World Wave Tour (WWT / PWA), combined with the French FFVoile Wave Championship. An event of international scale.
Speed, commitment, sky-high jumps: wave windsurfing at its most spectacular, against one of the most beautiful backdrops of the French coast, between Cap Gris-Nez and Cap Blanc-Nez.

World Wave Tour 2026 · 10 stops · 4 to 5 stars
For nine days, the world's best athletes compete across five divisions. Alongside the points counting towards the world title, the Wissant Wave Classic also awards the French Wave Champion titles (women & men).
Registration for the WWC 2026 is now open!
The competition is open to everyone: amateur and professional riders alike.
For French participants, registering for the competition also enters you in the French Wave Windsurfing Championship. An FFVoile licence is required, but one can be purchased on site.
A Masters category has also been created to crown the champion among riders aged 45 and over.

On 6 and 7 December 2025, the Wissant spot once again came alive to the rhythm of the WWC. Two days of intense competition — wind, waves and constant adaptation — for an event that is both international and a major round of the French Championship.
Demanding conditions, top-level riders and a warm, authentic atmosphere.

For one week, Wissant becomes the world capital of wave windsurfing and the whole resort lives to the rhythm of the event. Here, boardsports aren't reserved for champions: on the beach and on the water, the public shares the daily life of international riders, feet in the sand, as close to the action as it gets.
What's on
A unique energy and a warm, friendly atmosphere, driven by a team of passionate volunteers deeply rooted in Wissant: here, between the two capes, beats the heart of world wave windsurfing.
The Wissant Wave Classic team
For the 2026 edition, the organisation of the Wissant Wave Classic builds on the solid experience gained during the 2024 and 2025 editions. This continuity is now strengthened by the arrival of new members on the team, bringing complementary skills, broader expertise and fresh momentum.
This evolution supports the event's rise in scale. It strengthens its professionalism, raises its organisational standards and continues its development on a national and international level.
The 2 Caps Windsurf association
The event is run by the 2 Caps Windsurf association, founded in 2020. It brings together windsurfing enthusiasts from the Côte d'Opale, between Cap Blanc-Nez and Cap Gris-Nez, at the iconic spots of Wissant, Sangatte and Wimereux.
Our mission: to promote windsurfing in a free, accessible and community-driven way, while showcasing the coastline and building connections between riders, locals and visitors.
